Round of 16
Estádio Nacional de Brasilia,
Brasília

France vs Nigeria
France have been excellent at the world cup so far, led by forward karim benzema's three goals and two assist, the french attack looks the sharpest of any country left in the tournament.
with coach deschamps will likely make several changes to a side that was held to a goalless draw by ecuador in the final group stage game. meanwhile nigeria finished as runners-up in
group f with four points after losing their final fixture 2-3 against argentina. they were toothless against iran and were held to a goalless draw before controversially beating bosnia
and Herzegovina 1-0 in their second fixture. nigeria are a talented young team, and their style of wide counter-attacking play means they're as well-suited to playing france as anyone
else in tournament. my bet if for france with captain hugo Lloris they can beat nigeria with a score of 3-1.

Germany vs Algeria
Germans will come into this game as favourites to progress to the quarter finals. they have looked one of the strongest teams during the group stages and are among the group of teams
that could go all the way. the germans have been more efficient than prolific making sure they topped their group. germany were quick to make a statement in their opening game, they
beat christiano ronaldo of portugal 4-0 and silencing the voices of some critics who doubted whether jogi loew side germans struggle a bit against tough ghana side, but able to rescue
a point through miro klose's late equalizer, while in the third the US was beaten by a modest goal to finish on top of group G. meanwhile algeria come into this match with nothing to
lose. they have already gone past all expectations in this world cup. it will just be one big party for the algerian fans and the player will do good to just enjoy the football and express
themselves. It was way back in 1982 when Germany and Austria played out what went down in the history books as the "Disgrace of Gijon" to eliminate Algeria from the World Cup. my bet is
for germany they can beat algeria with a score of 3-0.

Round of 16
Arena Corinthians,
São Paulo

Argentina vs Switzerland
Argentina come into the match as favourites after collecting wins in all their group matches. however their wins were not convincing and they struggled to break down a bold Iranian team
and conceded two goals against the nigerians. Moreover the argentineans have depended completely on Lionel Messi to bail them out of trouble, he provided a most convincing response to
heavy pressure for a memorable performance on the world cup stage. now he will surely be hoping that a few more of his teammates can do likewise. meanwhile switzerland come into the game
with nothing to lose, so they can play their natural game. the swiss have not made a quarter final of a world cup since they hosted the tournament 60 years ago. ottmar hitsfeld will be
glad that they ended their group stages on a high after they thrashed honduras 3-0. Swiss will have to do without the services of mario gavranovic, who has been declared unfit for the
rest of the tournament due to an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee. my bet is for argentina they will beat switzerland with a final score of 2-0.

Belgium vs USA
belgium made it through to the knockout stage of the competition as winners of group H with maximum points. marc wilmots side managed to beat korea republic in their final fixture
despite being dominated by the asian side for the majority of the game. steven defour will not play for the next match who's recieve a one match ban for his two-footed challenge
during the game against south korea. the USA on the other hand are a motley collection of youth and experience. what they lack in flair, they make up with good tactical positioning
and dicipline on the pitch. jurgen klinsmann clearly has the tactical nous, has coached his side well. the UsA should certainly be able to match belgium in physicality and mental
strenght. but i will bet for belgium they can beat USA with a score of 1-0.

Germany vs France
The two european footballing giants have contrasting form heading into the game. germany impressed right from the start of the world cup, putting four
goals past portugal and conceding none at the back. since then however the germans have faltered drawing ghana 2-2, narrowly beating USA 1-0, and survived
several scares to beat algeria 2-1 in extra time. France conversely seemed to have gone from strength to strength . after beating honduras 3-0 in the opener,
they embarked on a 5-2 near rout of switzerland and beat nigeria 2-0 in the round of 16. my bet is for germany they can beat france with a final score of
2-1.

Quarter-Finals
Estádio Castelão,

Brazil vs Colombia
The score line says that brazil won its previous match againts chile, after 120 minutes of play, it was quite transparent that it was one of brazils poorest
performances in the tournament. brazil looked in rhythm only in the first half an hour of the match. after that it was chile which controlled the pace of the
match. it totally dominated the second half. even during the extra time chile decided when to defend and when to attack. brazil looked clueless neymar, fred
and oscar had one of their worst days on the field. Meanwhile colombia had an emphatic victory over uruguay such a clear dominance was exceptional especially
in the round of 16 as most of the matches have been evenly poised. there have already been multiple penalty shoot outs. the so called smaller teams have been
showing great strength in competing against the significant other. colombia on the other hand was quite convicing. james rodriguez who already is the leading
goal scorer at the moment with 5 goals in 4 matches, scored a stunner in the match. his first goal against uruguay was probably the most extra ordinary goal
of the tournament so far. but i still believe in brazil my bet is for brazil they can beat colombia with a score of 3-1.

Quarter-finals
Estádio Nacional de Brasilia,

Argentina vs Belgium

Argentina is one win away from advancing to the world cup semi finals for the first time since 1990 and they are favored to do so against belgium.
La Albiceleste required the prodigious skills of Lionel Messi to see them through the group stage.Messi scored in all group stage games, and twice at the very end of games.
otherwise,Argentina struggled to find goals and dominate their group stage games against Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran, and Nigeria, all supposedly “lesser” teams. Meanwhile
belgium also returned with a vengeance to world cup action after failing to qualify in 2006 and 2010. the red devils entered the tournament as 175 favorites in world cup group
betting and didnt disappoint winning all three of their group stage matches while recording two clean sheets. However, the Belgians' fine play has not been rewarded by oddsmakers,
who place Belgium in the middle of the pack in futures betting to win the tournament with World Cup odds of 20-1. but my bet is for argentina i believe they can beat belgium with
a final score of 3-1

Quarter-finals
Arena Fonte Nova,

Netherlands vs Costa Rica

Costa Rica has been the big surprise of the tournament so far, winning the Group of Champions and then beating Greece on penalty kicks in the round of 16.But after being slightly favored against the Greeks,
Costa Rica returns to its role as big underdog in the quarterfinals, facing a great Dutch attack that has scored 12 goals in four matches. While the Netherlands has looked great on the attack, it needed two
late goals to beat Mexico in the round of 16, and its defense was under siege at times. Costa Rica is led by its defense, which has been terrific so far. It was a man down facing Greece after a second-half red card. While it gave up a late tying goal, it held the Greeks scoreless in extra time with 10 men. The Dutch striker duo of Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie each have three goals, and they have to be the guys the Costa Rica defense must key on. But my bet is for Netherlands they can beat costa rica with a score of 2-0.

1x2

Semi-finals
Estádio Mineirão,

Brazil vs Germany
The absence of brazils talismanic striker from the teams world cup semi final match against germany will indeed be a heavy issue to deal with,
but the selecao will be better off adopting a confident attitude in order to salvage its world cup title hopes. bad news for brazil Neymar will be out the remainder
of the tournament with a fractured vertebra, brazil will rely on hulk, jo and fred to lead the line and create its attack against germany. jo might not be the best
option as he's been particularly wasteful in his two appearances in the world cup. David luiz center of brazil has been an unlikely source of goals for his team in
this tournament,he's popped up for two in the world cup. meanwhile germany coach Joachim Loew reverted to an older central midfield pairing of Sami Khedira and Bastian Schweinsteiger,
while pushing Philipp Lahm back to right-back, a position commentators and football analysts have argued is his best position. To beat Brazil, Die Mannschaft need to put in another “classic”
German performance like they did against France. That means being solid at the back, and clinical up front with their goal opportunities.Expect Miroslav Klose to finally score his 16th World Cup
goal and avenge Germany’s defeat against Brazil in the 2002 World Cup Championship match. my bet is for germany with neymar absence they can beat brazil with a score of 1-2.

Third place
Estádio Nacional de Brasilia,
Brasília

Brazil vs Netherlands

Even the most ardent fan of brazil knew that it would be difficult to beat germany without neymar and thiago silva playing for the host nation. however it was much worse than that any brazil fan might have expected.germany scored even times against brazil, conceding only one goal which came in the dying minutes of the semi-final. the brazilian players looked nervous they were probably playing for their trauma to end with the halftime whistle. it was the worst world cup defeat for the south american nation. for that matter it was the worst defeat for any team in world cup semi finals. that match against netherlands should be brazil's chance to restore self-esteem. even though it is unfair to judge a team by one match it will take decades for brazil to heal the wound.

The dutch team was one of the favourites to win the title this year. It started the tournament with an emphatic 5-1 win against world champion Spain. The start was enough to prove that the team came with a purpose. The Netherlands showed great capability to win matches against all odds. It also displayed a tremendous flair to score goals. It scored 9 goals in its first 3 matches and stormed to the knock-out stages. howeveras the tournament progressed, the Dutch found it difficult to score. even after 120 minutes of dominance against Costa Rica, Arjen Robben's team was unable to score even once. the match had to be settled in penalty shoot-out which the netherlands won eventually. however the dutch were not lucky twice as it lost against argentina in the semi finals and it was again up to the tie breaker. This time it was Argentina's goal-keeper Sergio Romero who saved a couple to beat the Dutch and end their hopes to win the World Cup.

My bet is for netherlands they can beat brazil for third place with a score of 1-3.

Germany vs Argentina

Even though Argentina has traditionally been criticised for its weak defence, it has shown effectiveness in its defence in this tournament. Javier Mascherano has played a major role both as a central defender and defensive midfielder. Romero's performance in the semis will boost the team-morale tremendously. Argentina conceded only 4 goals in 6 matches with 4 clean sheets. That is impressive by any standard. Argentina won against the Netherlands in the semi-finals. When neither of the teams could score even once after 120 minutes of play, the match was decided in penalty shoot-out. Sergio Romero, the Argentine goal-keeper whom nobody probably had high hopes for, turned out to be the hero of the match as he saved 2 out of 4 penalty shots taken by the Dutch.

Germany is probably the most complete team in this tournament. It has such an attacking capacity that it can devastate any team on a given day. Thomas Müller, Miroslav Klose and Bastian Schweinsteiger are just a few names in its never-ending list of talents. Its captain Philipp Lahm leads the team with a no-nonsense strategy.Manuel Neuer is arguably the best goal-keeper in the world right now. Joachim Löw's team is good as it gets. What Germany didto Brazil was "murder" by sporting standards. The five-time world champions were defeated 1-7 in the semi-finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The hosts suffered the worst defeat in its world cup history, and Germany went to a world cup final for the eighth time.

My bet is for germany they can beat argentina with a final score of 2-1 and will be the champion this world cup 2014.
