There is a lot more than you think. I am a lifetime fan and Kansas City Wizards season ticket holder. Most of my friends are fans as well.

just watch video

Europian supporters are really crazy.
I'm not sure. But I do know that American sports fans (not all, but a good portion) tend to be "wishy-washy". I know a heck of alot of sports fans that when their team is eliminated from the playoffs they will start rooting for another team. Or, alot of fans will support a multiple number of teams within the same league.

European fans tend to be fans of 1 club for life. And, will under no circumstances root for any other club. Thus, the passion is much much more intesnse over there. Maybe that has something to do with it but I could be completely wrong.

Cultural differences perhaps! I don't know but I do know that I am fine with American fans the way they are for the most part...

I have been to several soccer games overseas (Europe and Middle East) and nothing is more retarded than the threat of violence, possible death over a game when you're just there to see a good game and have a good time. It's absolutely ridicilous to me. For the most part, you don't deal with that kind of insanity in the US. Atleast not from my personal experience.

If it wasnt for security, we would have riots at football games here too. I have been very close to seeing some breakout at Chiefs games but security and police were quick to stop the action.

You will actually see the use of flares and smoke bombs at MLS games just not at the level you see in Europe.

You can pull pictures online of Chicago Fire home games and they will look similar to the pics on that site.
They have security at European soccer games too.

Call me when we have to start selling "stab vests" for folks who plan on attending the Super Bowl, like they're doing for the upcoming World Cup.

Source? If true, I suspect it has more to do with crime/security issues in South Africa. I don't recall any incidents in recent WCs.

I would like a reliable source for that as well. I've never heard of any such thing.
