Publix needs to find a location in the Powdersville trade area before proceeding with a new store.

A lot of the newer Ingles stores in NC carry a pretty wide selection of upscale and organic items. Hopefully once the remodel of the Powdersville Ingles is complete, it will satisfy at least a part of that demand. I agree that Powdersville could easily support a Publix.

I wonder if Ingle's Anderson County stores already sells some of those items.

Powdersville is one trade area where Publix could open a store. Another trade area could be Highway 24 at Lake Hartwell in Anderson. A Publix store is already planned for Clemson Grove in Pendleton.

The Ingles in Belton carries a huge selection of upscale/organic items, so it's not just NC stories that get the good items. We've actually come to the conclusion that for the bulk of our preferred products/brands, the Belton Ingles is better than the Publix on Greenville St in Anderson. And for produce, there is no comparison - Ingles solidly beats Publix. The only real spots where Publix wins are the prepared foods/bakery and they have sushi and a larger meat/seafood selection.

Yeah Ingles has gotten a better selection the last few years in many of the departments. They have been doing the opposite of Bilo.

Some of the newer design Ingles I've been to in NC have had a selection of Sushi and a nice Cafe where they will prepare stir fry and other meals to for customers to take home for meals.

I didn't mean the upscale selection was exclusive to NC - just that I have seen more of that type selection in their stores with fresh remodels I've been to in NC.

Default Ingle's #240, 2404 Highway 81 North, Anderson, South Carolina 29621-2505

Ingle's #240's video department should be closing soon or have already closed. The South Carolina Board of Pharmacy issued a pharmacy permit for Ingle's Pharmacy #240. The pharmacy department should be opening soon.

Ingle's #240's pharmacy opened over one month ago. The pharmacy is not listed on the store's web page yet.
