We are considering a move to Florence, SC. We would hope to find a home in the West neighborhoods. Our price range would be in the $250k range. We currently live in a neighborhood that has more grandparents than kids (very few kids our kids' age). We would love for our kids to live in a neighborhood where they could meet with other kids (who are well-behaved) who might want to just get-together for a soccer or football game. We want to stay close-in (toward city center) on the West side as much as possible, but definitely want to have a neighborhood where there are kids our kids' age. Any thoughts on areas/neighborhoods we should consider? So far, we have liked Country Club Forest, Ebenezer Chase, Hampton Pointe (although a bit further out for us), and the Madison Ave./Jackson Ave. area closer in to town. Does anyone have any thoughts on how kids interact in these communities and what the ages of the kids are? Any other areas/neighborhoods with the kind of feel we describe. We typically like a more established neighborhood with more focus on a quality-built house and larger yard vs. a larger-sized house. Thank you for your help!!

I would suggest you move to the neighborhoods that are towards the 5 points area, Country Club Forest or on the West Side of the Royall Elementary School district area. This will put you close to the City Center.

My suggestions would be Monticello/Jefferson Pointe (off S. Cashua), which is close to the Five Points area, Parkland, Grove Park (a little bit older homes), and Hazelwood. Monticello/JP would have the largest concentration of young families.
