Haven't heard anything about the former NBSC building, if I find out something I will post.
I thought I heard on the radio or somewhere that this was to be an OB-GYN or medical specialist clinic. I could not find or remember where I heard this from but I did find where it looks to be part of the Sumter Family Health System.

Ok thanks, I can see a facility like that going there. I'm surprise it's not another extension of Colonial Family Practice, they are spread out all over Sumter.
Maybe the artist just didn't do a good job in his depiction of the building. The building probably will look much nicer than what the artist came up with. Like the Hyatt Place, the actual building looks way nicer than the artist depiction that was in the item a few years ago.

Speaking of Hyatt Place.. The little video promo put out by the City seems to indicated that it is doing very well in terms of occupancy with many folks from Sumter making reservations for a "staycation". I am hoping that this leads to another hotel downtown.. either a boutique one like Hotel Florence in a renovated building or maybe an extended stay like Marriott Courtyard.. preferably down on the other end of Main street next to the CCTC Science Center to anchor both ends of downtown.. Even though a location on south end of Downtown is just two blocks away from Tuomey and the Opera House.. some folks view Liberty St as the DMZ...and DO NOT CROSS line.. Hopefully that perception is fading now...
