Not surprised most came from the Upstate. Actually, does that even surprise anyone?

Doesn't surprise me at all. We are very passionate about things up here. You should know that. I will agree though, the flag shouldn't have been on state grounds, and the right thing is being done now!

Let's enjoy this moment. We watched positive history happen before our eyes today. All South Carolinians - from the Lowcountry to the Midlands, the Pee Dee to the Upstate - have a lot to be proud of today.

Interesting video of when the flag was taken down from the dome and raised on the confederate monument.... Different atmosphere all together

I've been in SC for 24 years now and have never set foot on even the sidewalks of the state capital. I think I will sometime this week.

It is so obvious from this video that the flag issue never had anything to do with "heritage" so much as pure good old fashioned racism. Anyone who can't see this is just fooling themselves.

That is chilling to watch. Wholly unrecognizable compared to today, thankfully.

Fascinating to ponder why that is.
