Looking at a couple of cottages on Marion st ne in Aiken . This is a vacation home . Also looked in Aiken Estates . Is the Marion area more prone to crime ? Any Aiken areas not the most desirable ?
Agrossi,
You have been posting in the forum for years now, so I am sure you are familiar with Aiken
by now.
All areas of Aiken are prone to crime. Especially for a vacation home.
If you truly want a "safe" area, I would suggest a gated community.
Even then, you are not really 100 percent safe, but at least you would be assured
of a guard and gate to help stop thieves.
The crime rate of Aiken is high, but you already know that.

I would think Marion Street below Richland Avenue, closer to South Boundary would be better than Marion above Richland closer to Perry Park. The area around Schofield Middle School (above Richland) can be sketchy at times.
