Aiken Mall is for sale:

Unfortunately I have heard that Belk is closing it's location at the Aiken Mall.
I am very sad about this, I don't know when it will happen, but when it does, I
am going to be depressed. I really loved Belk's sales.

I wonder how much Aiken Mall has suffered losing two anchors in Sears and J.C. Penney. Both chains have been struggling for many years. Losing Belk and/or Dillard's would leave Aiken Mall without any anchors.

Should be demolished in my opinion. Outdated, 1-hall mall. Start all over with new retail and store fronts.

This should be the first challenge for the next owner of Aiken Mall. Either vacancies in Aiken Mall could be filled quickly by non-commercial uses, or the mall can be converted to an open air outlet mall/town center concept.

I too will be sad to see Belk leave Aiken, if the rumor is true. Two of my favorite stores are Belk and Kohls -- now I'll have neither one here. Maybe time to relocate to the burb of a large city where there are many shopping choices. Thank goodness for online shopping.

I doubt Kohl's has arrived in Aiken yet. It is a store I can see coming in the future.

Belk appears to be the last anchor at Aiken Mall after Dillard's announced store 165 will be closing. ("Dillards at Aiken mall to close.")
