Hi I would like to go on a quick trip to show my daughter the beautiful fall foliage. Can anyone tell me where is the best place to go for that this year? Considering Georgia,South Carolina, North Carolina , and Tennessee, some place not too far of a drive from Florida. I have read that warm weather and low rainfall has pushed back the peak leaf changing times in some places to early November? Any advice on where to go this year?
In South Carolina, I would advise starting with South Carolina Highway 11, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway. The route transverses through Oconee, Pickens, Greenville, Spartanburg, and Cherokee counties. There are several lakees, several state parks, and a national battlefield along the route or miles off the route worth checking out.

I agree with CK. SC 11 is a great fall scenic route. You also should check out the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is probably the best place to view fall foliage in the South. Get on it in Asheville, NC and go towards Cherokee/Maggie Valley.
Would also maybe add rt 441 in Western NC Around Cherokee towards Gatlinburg, TN. Would also suggest BlueRidge Parkway. Maybe look into NC forum for more info and Northeast GA as well.
When is the best time to go to this year to see the fall leaves at their peak?
Late November, usually around Thanksgiving Day, is a good time to check out foliage. I am slowly noticing a change of green to yellow. It has remained warm and sunny across South Carolina for most of October.
Colors are already beautiful right now in some parts of higher elevations. I have really enjoyed taking the sights in this weekend on a mountain near Taylors, SC.
Colors have already peaked in most of the higher NC mountains (above 3k feet or so). As most folks here are saying, SC and parts of southern NC are your best bet, and even then I'd try to go soon.
