Lake Greenwood Crossing is a retail center located at the northwest corner of Highway 72/221 East and South Carolina Highway 246 in the Coronoca community in Greenwood County, South Carolina. It is anchored by a supermarket, BI-LO #5755, formerly Piggly Wiggly #79.

Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company opened store 79 in 2004, its fourth store in Greenwood County at the time. Piggly Wiggly #79 was the first Piggly Wiggly store to have a pharmacy and a fuel center. It would be among 22 stores divested to BI-LO Holdings, now Southeastern Grocers, in 2013. Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company ceased operations later.

BI-LO #5755 opened in October 2013. It did not operate the fuel center, which was divested to Spinx. Spinx has closed the fuel center.

I am hearing BI-LO #5755 is closing. Several of its service departments, including pharmacy, have already closed or are in the process of closing and specific customer services have ceased. Five BI-LO stores that were previously Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company stores have already closed.

That is a pretty busy store. I would be surprised if they close it. I am personally in there every day getting lunch from their hot bar.

If BI-LO #5755 was a busy store, it would not have initiated the closing of its service departments, discontinuation of customer services, and inventory reduction. I wonder if there was a significant loss of business from Piggly Wiggly #79 to BI-LO #5755. BI-LO has struggled in recent years, and it may not be the right supermarket in the trade area.

The pharmacy had not done well since the day they converted it to the Bi-lo, and since the opening of the new walmart (not sure of the number right off), it only hurt more.

Walmart Supercenter #6887, 300 Bypass 25 Northeast, Greenwood, SC 29646-3009, provides many reasons to drive past BI-LO #5755 and Harvey's Supermarket #1681, 712 Bypass 25 Northeast, Greenwood, South Carolina 29646-3030, for necessities, quality, freshness, price and service.
