MYB - Through June, + 4.3% or up 50K from 1.16MM to 1.21MM.

GSP - Through May, + 15.6% , or up 133k from 860K to 993K.

CAE - Through June, + 19%, or up 104K from 555K to 659K.

Obviously the stats are not all through mid-year, but all airports showing strong growth.
Thanks for putting these together. You're right, strong growth all along. MYB's numbers I'm a little surprised at how slow they are. I wonder if those numbers are through June 1st or June 31st? Obviously those numbers will skyrocket throughout June and July.

Just saw this and LOL

I randomly checked flight status' in Columbia a few weeks ago and I saw where a flight from Charlotte to FLO was diverted. I didn't see any storms so I'm not sure what the reason could have been.

Here are the 2018 passengers numbers for the major airports of our state (not including FLO or HH).

CHS 4,470,318 up from 3,987,427, +12.1% increase.
MYB 2,509,874 up from 2,277,965, + 10.5% increase
GSP 2,318,317 up from 2,130,885, +8.8% increase
CAE 1,197,603 up from 1,077,188 + @11% increase.

Each airport saw larger planes, increased routes, and added at least one new airline and destination. CHS and MYB both added multiple new airlines and destinations, many of which are seasonal. Obviously a strong national economy was helpful, but it's a big testament to the growth of our state, the growth of our cities, and the rising appreciation for our state as a tourist and business destination.

The 2019 numbers are in. Another year of very impressive growth for our state airports. Here are the new numbers and last year's numbers above.

CHS 4,871,062 + 400,744, an 8.96% increase
GSP 2,612,236 + 293,919, a 12.68% increase
MYB 2,611,563 + 101,689, a 4.1% increase
CAE 1,353,788 + 156,185, a 13.04% increase

I assume a reflection of a general slowdown in the golf business ala golfers visiting.

Maybe one day people will be commuting/carpooling in little single engine planes and flying to private airports outside of major cities instead of driving...lol
Reminds me when I flew from GSP to Atlanta felt like I had just settled into my seat when the pilot announced we were approaching the Atlanta airport.

Yep... no snacks or nothing....LOL...

I am surprised that this type of airline hasn't found its way into SC. Seems like FLO and maybe Hilton Head could benefit from this type of service into larger airports like ATL. Even non traditional airports like Sumter would seem like a good fit for periodic service.

I wonder to what extent the coronavirus outbreak will affect this year's numbers.

Florence use to fly to Atlanta via Delta, and they are trying to get that back. Hopefully sooner than later.

Seems clear now that everyone is going suffer rough losses across the board. Seems last year most commercial airports set either all time records or 10 year records. I think this year drops will be dramatic across the board. Atlanta may go back under 100 million, Charleston's not hitting 5 million.

Delta is the first airline to make massive cuts, and Delta is CHS and GSP's largest carrier, and largest singer carrier at CAE. AA is starting to follow suit. AA is #1 overall at CAE. Charleston's London flight will likely be affected. Myrtle will see a big hit if tourism doesn't pick up in the summer. Atlanta is about to be hit hard by Delta's cuts, and Atlanta is SC's biggest pipeline. Atlanta is the #1 route for CHS, GSP, and CAE and it's not even close. And then you have Charlotte with AA, which is #2, and #1 at Myrtle. So yeah, not looking good.

It wont be a South Carolina, or even American thing. Numbers are going to crater across the world this year.
