Do property taxes on your home in SC have anything to do with the state, or is it all set at the county level?

I'd hate to see an income tax cut offset by a higher property tax.

This tax cut probably eliminated income tax completely for many lower income people. I assume that's why the Democrats went along with it.

I recall reading a few years that 40% of SC residents pay no income tax which is incredible.

It's more like 8 and half states, since New Hampshire (the live free or die state!), only taxes interest and dividend income and NOT wages.

Tennessee was like that until recently, then they decided to not tax interest and dividend income as well.

Last I saw, the bill was approved by the Senate, and they had to work out differences with the House. Do any of you locals know if this has been sorted out? Would make SC a more attractive retirement destination, at least for me.
