Which area is better for a family with a 15 year old Sophomore high school student? We dont know which way to go..... Love the outdoors.. We live in OKC right now and I am tired of living where all you see is flat land. But, as a parent,,,, the school and friendly people are what we are looking for. We are going to need a 3 bedroom rental house too...

If you're tired of flat land, Sioux Falls might not be the optimal choice. But either place would be good for raising kids.

Sioux Falls is flat. I lived there for 6 years... It's a great city though. If you can live with flat land, you'll love Sioux Falls... The schools are great, and the people are friendly.

There is a lot more to do outside in Rapid + the winters are nowhere near as brutal.

I commented before, but I was looking through threads again, and I realize that I live 200 miles to the east of OKC...

Sioux Falls is flat, but I miss it... a lot. Things there seem to be more "thought out" there than here... and more clean. Sioux Falls is such a clean city...
Once you move away, it's the little things you notice.

Thanks, we just found out that if my husband takes the position he has been offered, we wil be living in or around Sioux Falls. I like smaller towns, but as long as the high school is good that is what is important

I beg to differ about Sioux Falls being flat. There are PLENTY of hills all over the city!! Just try driving your car anywhere when its slippery and you will wish it were truly flat! Think of all the sliding sledding hills around. There is plenty to do outside in the winter. Snowshoe, xcountry ski, ice skating. Sioux Falls and the surrounding area is great for year round outdoors stuff. Enjoy! I live in CA right now, but will probably move back in a few years to Sioux Falls, so keep it clean for my return!
