This has been on the news for the past day and I think it's wonderful that industry is still moving in to the state. Our unemployment rates are already below 3%.

I am glad for Aberdeen to get a number of jobs with the windmill blade manufacturer along with the new beef plant. This should help strengthen the job base in Aberdeen and the 700 or so jobs would not all be manufacturing jobs: some will be clerical jobs and others may be managerial, accounting, and administrative jobs (which have good wages and would go further in a community of 24,000 as opposed to one of 150,000 or more). Hopefully, the new facilty along with other developments can end the 30 to 40 years of population decline in Aberdeen and get the city back on track.

I'm glad you posted the population of Aberdeen cause I was curious of it and was going to check it out. Yes, 750 jobs doesn't sound like a lot in some areas, but it is a lot of jobs for mid-sized communities.

The employers come to South Dakota due to the solid work ethic of South Dakotans and it is easier for them to do business than other states, which regulate businesses to death (which can be counter-productive). I would like to see South Dakota grow its own businesses to diversify and become a strong economic anchor in the Northern Plains. I honestly believe that South Dakota has a lot of untapped potential.

Default jobs

This is excellent news...I grew up right around Aberdeen... It really is a nice city... Recently, they've been on a slight decline...I've noticed a few businesses have closed down, but I see a little development, especially on the east side of town...Hopefully the 4 lane highway they built will help w/ that...
