There is a herd 200+ Elk bedded down on a hillside about 1/2 mile west of hwy 385 and just south of the south entrance to the ranger station at Wind Cave National Park. They are soaking up the morning sun and look like they will be there all day if not all winter. The hillside looks like a bunny slope at a Colorado ski resort. We also saw two immature Golden Eagles, 4 Coyotes, and a ton of Prairie Dogs. The Buffalo are probably still hanging out around Red valley, a few miles east.
Thanks for the alert. I saw two Elk cows when we were heading out of Rapid City towards Hot Springs a couple weeks ago. Sure wish I could see them now.
Sorry, It's gotta be live. first shoot it with a camera, then with a gun. Not vice versa.
My thread, my rules.
