I am just curious, so this is just for South Dakotans but would folks mind saying how long they have lived in SD?
Please answer in months or years or if you've lived here all your life.
If you're not from SD but would like to be, you might mention that you're interested in moving here.
So for starts, I have been here all my life, as were three generations before me. Same is true for my Mrs. All but one of our seven children were born here and that one was born in ND. We were living in SD but the ND hospital was the nearest hospital so he was born there.
I've lived here since I was two. I was born in Kearney, NE and lived in Saint Louis for about a year. My family moved up to Rapid City in 1990 and I am now 18. I consider myself a South Dakotan not a Nebraskan.
My husband and daughter were both born in SD. He in Rapid (where his folks are now), she in Mobridge. We lived on Standing Rock for three years before a job opened up back home in Nebraska.
I've always liked western South Dakota and wouldn't hesitate to go back should the opportunity arise. I don't want to raise my kids on the rez, though...
except for the past four years, I spent my entire life within 30 miles of SD.
I was born in SDak, ALMOST 48 yrs ago. My parents were born in SDAK. My Hubby and his parents were born in SDAK. My daughter was born in Huron Sd and now lives near Carthage SD..
I've wandered out of state a few times, but have always came back, within the 1st month...think I'm a ''lifer''......
