Thanks for all the posts. I really enjoyed reading them. I wish in a way we still had the country schools, but the trend is for larger schools with many kids having a long bus ride each day.

Oh, we love it when Peggy stops by in our state. She has ties to SD. She has ancestors here and still has relatives here. I think she may be coming up for a visit next summer and hopefully we'll get to meet for a soda.

I didn't know they had "Soda" in South Dakota. I thought all they had was "Pop".

Yea, we call it POP, too. I just try to say "Soda" cause half the country doesn't know what I'm talking about.

Is it "soda in a sack" or "pop in a bag"? When we visited Florida, I must have asked for the wrong thing because the store clerk looked at me funny and said, "Oh, are you from up North?" Well, no, we're from "Out West"!

That's cute. Yea, there are many areas of the country that have no idea what you mean if you ask for a pop. Funny how we're one country, yet we have language barriers.

I think I say "soda in a bag" but I'm kind of an outlier. Everyone else says "pop in a sack".

Them there words is kind of peculiar, eh?
