Howdy Folks! I'm a proud graduate of the Britton High School class of 1956.
Our family made several trips to South Dakota to make movies. One memorable shoot was at the Palisades, just outside of Garretson for TERROR AT OUTLAW CREEK. The comedy/adventure finds unsuspecting visitors visiting Outlaw Creek, which is inhabited by two defender ghosts of the land, who aimed to keep all idle sightseers out. Most of the scenes took place in the Palisades recreation area. We shot some stunts along the Mississippi River at Saint Anthony Falls in Minneapolis and cut that action together with the Palisades scenes.
We had a grand time shooting in and around my home town of Britton for THERE'S DANGER IN ROMANCE. We also went to the ghost town of Newark for some standups. Most of the action takes place in New York City, which was an adventure to shoot in as well. But lots of fun.
We are now working on BIT PART, for which we shot in several locations including the Palisades again and Wirth Park in Minneapolis.
Who knows what's next? We'd like to adapt my novel SUNRISE ACROSS AMERICA. But it would require so many complex setups in a TV station that it's better as a movie script to sell. We might do MIRACLE AT SAINT JOE'S if we can ever find a Catholic Church interior. With all the goofiness taking place in the RCC, we've met with some resistance. Of course, we could stage it like a theater play with surrealistic backdrops and film it. But it wouldn't have the punch of a practical location in an actual church. We shall pray on that. (smile)
