My wife is looking at an assistant US Attorney position in Pierre - I was wondering what the job market is like there for me - any advice?

It would be good to know what you do for a career. If you are an accountant or have that back ground, the state government has opportunities along with local CPA firms. State government has a number of opportunities, especially for those who have experience with government work and IT (they are often looking for IT people). Eagle Creek software is moving in and plans to hire up to 200 people and would be good if you have a software/computer background. Pierre has a regional hospital. Pierre would have a number of places that need workers.

Visit the site Work for Us - South Dakota Bureau of Personnel for job opportunities with the state government.

If you're an attorney in Pierre you will have no trouble finding work. That's all there is in that town!

It would be good checking into law enforcement or criminal investigations. The state has a crime lab in Pierre and there is a large number of attorneys there.
