I’d plan for couple hours to run the loop. That will be plenty of time. If you see buffalo do not approach them, or get out of the car. They are fast, they turn sharp, it is surprising for an animal that big and clumsy looking. They are dangerous.

There will be some places to stop and walk the dog in the park.
