Son will be attending South Dakota School of Mines and Technology as grad student. He has been assigned a one bedroom at LaCroix Apts. These are campus apts as far as we know. He has never been to the campus or seen these apts. There are no pics or floor plans on their website.

Does anybody have any insight as to the size of these apts or what they are like?

Thanks

Hmm... La Croix Apartments. Not sure if I've heard of these so they must be college apts. Are you sure you don't mean La Crosse Apartments? Here's a link to those.

They are campus apartments. I assumed owned by the university as you contract for them just as you would a dorm room. But other than that we have no information as to size, layout, or anything.

Found this - there is also a map on the page attached

Apartments (broken link)

This may also be a helpful site: http://reslife.sdsmt.edu/
LaCroix Apartments
115, 119, 123 & 125 E. Kansas City Street
(the four apartment buildings on the uphill side of Kansas City Street)
Consisting of one 3-story building and three 2-story buildings, the LaCroix Apartments are a combination of 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units. Each building has it's own laundry and the complex has plenty of off-street parking. Apartment entrances are all interior on a central stairwell/hallway.

Students have the option of choosing a 9-month or 12-month agreement. Since the agreement is with SDSM&T, payment options are ideal - no worries about making a monthly rent payment; rent is paid at the start of fall semester, then spring semester. If you have a 12 month agreement, summer rent is due in May.

The apartments are available for SDSM&T students, who are not otherwise required to live on-campus . . . full-time graduate students and undergraduates in at least their third year. BHSU, SDSU and USD students are also welcome. The apartments are set-up for single students. Limited family housing is available (rates differ).

All apartment rents include utilities - gas, electric, water/sewer, garbage, basic cable and high-speed internet. Apartments may be rented as single occupancy bedrooms or doubles. Doubles are not recommended for some units. Rates are listed here.

The apartments are under the control of the SD BOR as they are managed by SDSM&T Residence Life and therefore, occupants must abide by all SD BOR and university policies/procedures, as well as the apartment application/agreement.
