I was in Deadwood in 1986 and ate at a spaghetti buffet that was pretty good and reasonably priced. Does anyone know the name of this place or if it is still in buisness?
There are some great, unique places in and around Sioux Falls.
• I have long been a loyalist to Szechwan on Minnesota for Chinese.
• Gregg's Substation on 41st is great for traditional sandwiches. Also a great tortilla soup. Some of the best bread in town.
• Nick's Gyros, also on 41st is outstanding. The gyros are big and priced right. Delicious.
• Nikki's Taqueria on 10th is great Mexican. The Mexican population is growing by leaps and bounds around here. It's no San Antonio, but the quality of Mexican food has skyrocketed in recent years.
• Boss's Pizza on Minnesota makes great pizza, and their chicken isn't too shabby either. They deliver super-late, as well, which earns them big points.
• Bob's Cafe is on 12th and is an easy go-to for good food. The place is tiny, but the food is great.
And just to name one since it was brought up earlier, there are plenty of small towns west of Sioux Falls that have great little cafes or eateries:
• The Beer Garden in Menno. It's a bar where you can get a tasty burger and so forth, but it also has authentic chislic. This is cubed mutton on a stick, deep-fried and served with garlic salt and saltines. It was made for eating with beer. What is sold in Sioux Falls (and many places) as chislic is not the same thing. It's sirloin tips on a toothpick or similar skewer. Places like Parker, Marion, Freeman and Menno know what they're doing. If you want to go straight to the source, check out the Kaylor Locker in Kaylor.

Great info! Maybe we will make it to Pirate's Table next time - we were so busy shopping, we just did our usual - Schlotzky's for lunch, and Fuddrucker's for dinner!
