I spent all day yesterday outside. If one is dressed for it, its not totally rotten. I did OK in it. A few times my face cold but other than that it was OK.

I am ready for spring.

I just wanted everyone to know that today in North Florida it is 80 degrees. I was trying to visualize your temps up there. Good luck to everyone!

It's so cold outside that the climates in the Black Hills have reversed. It's -5 in Rapid City and a balmy 27 up in Hill City. Usually it's the other way around.

Ah yes the temperature inversion. Somewhat common in the hills when it gets really cold near the hills. The nasty winter of 96-97 bitter cold in Rapid. Custer would normally be 20 degree or something goofy like that.

When there is an inversion, the air quality in Rapid City goes down hill. usually there is a veil of smoke and a haze in the air.

That's exactly how it is too. Going outside, all you can smell is car exhaust. It's because this cold air is so dense and heavy that the top layers move before the others and they move relatively slow. Unfortunately, Rapid City is in that bottom layer. *cough cough*

Okay, you guys! NOT FUNNY! You can take this -20 windchill back anytime! The down stairs of my house is freezing because the wind is blowing so hard against the front of the house, it's actually coming in through the weather stripping! *off to look for the duct tape!*

Yikes!!!~ Hope you are keeping warm Debey! Sounds like a good day to curl up by the fireplace and share some body heat with your spouse!

Actually, I think that's part of the Picken's plan...
