Well compared to super markets where prices range from 2.90/lb on up. It pays to shop around. Even if you can get a half of half a family of two can have a decent supply for a decent deal.
Yea, there is a guy here in Sioux Falls selling beef at 2.25/lb processed so a quarter is like $550....that a good price? High upfront cost but the rate the wife and I eat probably last a year lol.
That's a decent price. Up here in Sheridan Wyoming we pay $2.23 lb per quarter or $2.05 lb per half. Most of us get it cheaper as we process ourselves.
ok got to chime in on this.. If you want to save money buy food in bulk. Find a local rancher buy a half a beef you will pay all at once but a t bone is 9 dollers a pound in store and in a half a beef more like 2 or 3 a pound also roast and so on. lower cost more meat also if you live around farm country you can get eggs and maybe trade vegs you can grow in a garden. also cook out of a cook book dont buy prosesed can food what you will cook is better for you and better for your family also cost is much less. also if you shop in raped dont shop the first 10 days of the month the ebt familys get there money and the shops all set the prices up to get the most form those that have little. also make a list and only buy what is on the list try to get as much you can when in town so you can save gas maybe car pool to save money.Ok thats all I have to say on that.. lol
