I prefer homemade. I had my share of store bought, soap tasting bakery foods in California. Now that I'm back in the country I'll learn to do-it-myself.
Besides, this will be the 1st cake I baked myself, so if I end up burning it, It's my own damn fault. I won't be able to blame a woman for that.
I've learned alot about cooking in the last 2 months from this thread alone.

left over chili, for lunch. maybe sweedish meatballls, for supper. (envelope/mix)
Trial and error
I made some anglefood cup cakes last weekend. I was lucky the check them early because, I didn't realize I had the oven set at 550 instead of 350 They came out 15min's early..yellow with black bottom oh yes...except for the ones with double wrappers
I made some brownies the other night. As I was pouring the mix I realized I didn't grease or spray the bottom of the pan. So I kept the oven at a lower heat and kept checking it with a tooth pick. They turned out just the way I like em'.
Trying a new recipe. Baked sweet potato topped with blackened chicken and a mango salsa. Hubby had this at a meeting at a local restaurant - made me so hungry when he mentioned what he ordered - so.....I'm winging it .
Well aged chili from the freezer and hot biscuits.
