Thanks guys! All is well with her now and she is glad to have her car back and all paid off. I too think the bank was overreacting. Just because she had been late once before and she was a month behind on her current payment is no need to repossess. They were unable to get ahold of her via mail and phone because she was out of town both times and they did not have her cell number. You'd think they'd try to get ahold of her next of kin- ME!

I never received a call though. She has done business with this bank before and they have always been so courteous and the tellers even know her by name. We just think it was an overreaction and maybe a little foresight of how our local economy is. Apparently the repo guys had a lot of other cars to repossess that day too and they said they we're busier than they've ever been. Too bad it's like that during the Holiday Season though.

She's going to continue banking there but if she's ever in the market for another vehicle she's looking elsewhere for financing! I think she made out great in the end though. Her car's paid off and that saves a few needed hundred bucks per month.

Merry Christmas to you too, Jammie and Chris. Stay warm!

Hey there Danny! I'm so sorry for what they did to your Mom. I'm willing to bet that if the car was worth less than the $4,000, they would have been willing to work with her. They probably looked at it as a potential profit item.

In any case, she's lucky to be out from under their thumb and will save the interest she would have paid on the balance.

Merry Christmas to You and your Mom DannyB!!! Hope you have a great 2009 too!

On one hand, I think these changes are for the better, but sometimes the government goes to far, some people should not have credit cards, its as simple as that.....I know some people who live without Credit cards and I wish I could do that but todays world its almost impossible.......Sub-prime credit cards should go the same way as the mortgages, obsolete!
