Today was Thanksgiving. I did what I have done for years. We cooked 4 turkeys. 2 in the oven, 2 I deep fried. We cooked 1, 22 pound rib eye. We cooked 1, 12 pound ham. We had 26 guests, all single folks from foreign countries and we sent left overs home with all. If that don't put a smile on your face, nothing will.
No. I didn't burn anything either. I ate entirely too much. I took the battery out of my blood sugar tester so it couldn't measure the pumpkin pie and real whip cream. I will measure it later on this week and hopefully it will be back to something the doctor won't pull his hair out over.
I will be in Rapid City on the 30th and the 1st. I've put together a list.
1) Vaccinations. Visited the vet and got all my shots.
2) Passport. Got my passport and it's stamped in Wyoming.
3) Brochures. I picked up travel brochures and maps.
4) Insurance. I stopped and bought the additional insurance to travel there.
Is there anything I forgot? Extra TP, tobacco, bottled water, etc...?
reminiscing about the ice storm & power outage of 2005, tonight.......November has been good to us!
In 05 I was just getting out the hospital about this time. I was recovering at my mom and dad's. Pierre was a mess. And me who was just opened up from ribs to groin had to fix a furnace.
Two weeks after surgery I was back to work. Not bad for a 5 1/2 hour operation. This is one of the best november's I have had in a long time.
Ya might be a redneck if....the bar owner rented Port-O-Potties for this weekends parties.
Even better? the fact that it's going to be warm enough to use them!
