Did they say what the project was? Or maybe could you repeat what the ad said?
I don't know of anything big going on up there. I can only say if it is work on the beef plant, be wary. The owners owe various companies over $7 million.
Edit -- Or it could be this, it was in today's issue of the Aberdeen American News.

Thanks,
The said lodging provided at a modern hunting lodge listed building sizes to be built, trades needed and the address to send a resume. also project to start in june. The address was on 123rd st.
Hmm, that's interesting. That used to be my stomping grounds. It must be a pretty big project to be advertising in Florida. I'll kick some old rocks around and see what I can dig up.
I've heard that construction is tough in Florida. For the most part, it isn't awful here, but things are slowing. Since we are so dependent on ag, we are weathering things, but the manufacturing jobs are starting to go away. When ag goes bad is when places like Aberdeen suffer.
Thanks,

Interesting! 123rd Street would be the Westport/Columbia area. Both very, very small towns.
Just for verification, the job isn't for building a hunting lodge, correct?
The Chrysler dealership in Aberdeen was just given notice along with 788 other Chrysler dealers nationwide (7 total in SD) that Chrysler Corp. will be dropping them from their retail network. That's terrible news for all involved and those living in the towns affected.
Dan, thank you for posting that. I had heard a rumor about one of our local car dealers closing, but hadn't read anything concrete until now.
I also feel awful for all those people. CNN said today that Chrysler was closing 25% of their dealerships. They were interviewing a lot owner in the Atlanta metro area and he said he also sold Hyundais so he would stay open. Bet a lot of them won't be able to though.
This was nothing solid, but CNN said that it looked like GM would be heading that same direction and be closing about that same percentage of dealerships. Honestly though, there are SO many car dealers around that I've often wondered how they survive.
