Jammie, I think you are right. We moved before Costner built up there so have't seen it yet. Hubby gets hungry for the Friday night shrimp buffet at the Eldorado. Don't know if they still have it.
One thing that doesn't get mentioned is my favorite thing about living here. The clouds seem to move just above the ground. I cried when I came back and we hit the border. I feel like I my car can just take off and soar through the clouds. Have been in a lot of states, but the sky is what always makes me take that deep breath and smile. I'm doing some paintings,latch hook and hooked rugs to try and capture it.
I lived in Rapid City and Black Hawk for several years ... while the number of African Americans in the region is low, you shouldn't experience any issues. All in all, the people in western SD are wonderful (very sweet, respectful)
