An old ammo business is moving from Barstow, California to South Dakota because of the better tax base in that state. They are taking jobs with them too. Seems to be alot of businesses and people are leaving California. Can you blame them?
Now Corbon will have a new neighbor.

Cool for our area - nice to see businesses plugging along. It's not all roses but people seem OK around here for the most part. Pre-grand opening for the Lodge at Deadwood was last weekend and when in full swng is expected to have a good 200 employees and will be capable of hosting huge banquets. Is it a speialty ammo business or do they cover a large # of ammo types?

South Dakota has become very tax friendly through the years.

I believe I may have posted this on the "Recession" thread~there's a recent article saying that over 300 new companies are looking at relocating to So. Dak. and that's a record number.

One of the Knoxville members posted this in a Fla. thread a couple days ago and I found it fascinating so I'd like to share it.

Not sure as the name of ammo company wasn't named just that the fact that this company was in Barstow, CA for the longest time.
Corbon in Sturdis is a speciality maker..hi-velocity ammo for personal protection.

You should be safe where you are at.

There is quite a bit of firearms manufacturing from specialty guns to ammo companies.

Well hopefully this Company gets on the bandwagon and starts cranking out some 22 ammunition. Was getting pretty hard to find that particular shell and still is. Heck last 3 trips to walmart are still netting no 22 rounds.

Walmart is hit or miss on a nationwide basis. Lots of shotgun ammo. There are shops here that sell speciality ammo for personal defense like Corbon, Buffalo bore, Gold Dot. There is a limit per customer but you can get up to 10 boxes per UPC code.

Try pricing .45 rounds. Uffda. Makes target practice a whiz cutter. Fortunately I am a decent shot with the .45

I have been doing plenty of target shooting with my 9mm.
