As usual this happens on a weeknight, so I can't stay up late to see it. And when it does happen on the weekend, it's always cloudy.

The Perseids always occur during the week that we're on vacation at the shore...so we walk out to the beach around midnight, and have been rewarded with lots of meteors overhead in past years.

However, when we went out on Wednesday night, there was cloud cover...we couldn't even see a single star in the sky, let alone a meteor. <sob>
