I was wondering if anybody happened to be looking southeast , about 10 minutes ago. A meteor streaked past , very bright , followed by a muffled boom 3 minutes later. I am at work , and didn't have a camera handy.

Well, as long as it's not a foreign missile strike, it's all good. :-)

I saw a meteor a few weeks ago, but didn't hear a boom. If I hadn't been looking at the right direction, I would've surely missed it. Maybe it was too far away? I had thought about asking a meteorologist if it had shown up on radar, but it probably would've fallen between the cracks.
