Great view! Weird looking thing. It's called Barnard 68. Here's a couple of links about molecular clouds and Barnard 68. Interestingly, I found the Wiki link of Barnard 68 on from a NASA post of the photo of the cloud.

Just so happens I have a calendar with the Carina Nebula on it. I just glanced up at it and saw where that "hand with the finger" was.
