Even if we had multiple moons, that would be so cool. Earth really got screwed on the cool factor when the solar system developed.
Not necessarily. Rings like those would have a profound impact on temperatures, because light from the sun would be directed in areas at night time (many places may never cool down properly) and to the poles where they usually wouldn't get sunlight at all during their respective winter solstices. Really, something like that COULD affect whether or not conditions for life are present for earlier organisms, and evolution to intelligent beings (us) may have never occurred. Sure, Earth at first glance seems to have been jipped in the "prettiness" department, but we have some beautiful structures of our own. As well, our planet can support life, which has been found to be harder than thought due to the probabilities of correct distances from stars, presence of water, atmosphere, etc. etc.. I think it's a decent trade off to be born
Even though we only have one moon, it's pretty unique in that it's the only moon in the solar system that is at the right distance from the Earth at the present time to perfectly cover the sun during a total eclipse.
Who said there are intelligent beings on this planet?
