I don't feel the need to post linkies relating to this topic - there are hundreds of articles you could find on it through a search on Google.

How big an event would a Betelgeuse Supernova be for humans considering that this potential supernova could be the brightest ever witnessed by human civilization (brighter than the supernova that gave us the Crab Nebula, as commonly agreed by scientists)?

Any opinions? Thanks!

It would be a biggie , if it hasn't already occurred with the light from initial blast enroute. Hopefully , its GRB wouldn't head in our direction.
