This can run the gamut; from Lost In Space's: JUPITER TWO to Doctor Who's: TARDIS to Star Trek's: USS ENTERPRISE(and all it's derivatives: A, C, D, etc.).

My favorite is from BABYLON 5: THE WHITESTARS. They are a medium sized Battle Cruiser; very fast and manueverable, also carrying a lethal weapon's suite capable of "taking out" ships a hundred times their size. They usually travel in packs to increase their effectiveness in combat.

So what's YOUR favorite Science Fiction STARSHIP/SPACESHIP????
Try and provide links, pictures, and/or videos; so we all know what ship you are referring to, as these days there must be hundreds....LOL. .

The Eve online ships becauxze you actually get to fly them or destroy them and equip them with wahtever weapons and mods your heart desires. Its a terrible feeling when you have been playing a game for a long time and you warp through that gate and on the other side are a bunch of space pirates that are going to end your ship forever

As far as movies go it would have to be the cylon mother ship

The ugliest ship ever. I love it.

No guns, no shields. It's a truck.

I built an 8 inch paper model of her last year. I should post a picture.

Fireball XL5 would have to be my favourite spaceship from the 1960s back when I was but a larva. Good photo here showing the horizontal launch rail and booster trolley Fireball XL5 (http://www.martinbowersmodelworld.co.uk/html/fireball_xl5.html - broken link)

The Discovery One from 2001: A Space Odyssey

I also love the memorable scene of the Pan Am Orion III space clipper arriving at the rotating earth space station

Oh yeah, another vote for Rama - although... New York is darned nifty (Cities in Flight). Ohh! and then there is the one that was a sailing ship...

A few of the classic sci-fi books pointed out how stinky and rotten life would be on most of the mechanical based spaceships.

Very good answer and a cool ship...I never watched the new...Battlestar Galactica, I assume that's the new Cylon design...I like it as well as the original Cylon design. I also like the Romulan Warbird design in Star Trek The Next Generation; as well as other Starship configurations.
