Did a search and didn't find anything on this. Any other parents out there have a child who is Type 1 Diabetic?

) When was your child diagnosed?
) How's it going for you? How are their A1C's?
) Is your child on an insulin pump?
) Have you looked into a Continuous Glucose Monitoring system yet? Or if you have one, do you like it?

I'd love to hear other's experiences.

Default Type 1 diabetic

My son was diagnosed in 2004 at the age of 7. It was a nightmare at first, but now it is just a way of life. Things are going pretty well. Our A1C has run anywhere from 7.1 to 8.4. He is not now on an insulin pump, but an insulin pump makes it much easier to deal with. He was having too much of an issue with the needle insertion, so we are "taking a break" from it. However, he doesnt want to go back on it. I have a new insurance carrier and am going to try to get an omni pod which has an automatic insertion. We also have a CGM, but only use it when we are having problems (such as highs every night, or bad A1C). He also can't handle that insertion and we have to put it on him while he is asleep. Any thing I can help with, please feel free to contact me. I know how overwhelming it all can be.
