I was wondering if any of you watched this documentary on HBO. I really enjoyed it, it was so insightful, really gave me a glance of some of the challenges that parents of autistic children face.
I would be curious to know from parents of autistic children if they taught that the documentary was accurate or portrayed the kids in a fair light.
Some parts were so joyful, some were sad and some almost induced tears.
It made me understand that autistic children are very special in their own way.

I currently have it on my DVR, but I can only watch a little bit at a time because I tend to get too emotional when I watch anything to do with autistic/any special needs children and have to turn it off for a while (my youngest son is autistic, and I tend to over-empathize, I even tear up at some of the threads here!) So far I have gotten about 1/3 of the way through and I really love the idea. I'll let you know what I think when I finally get through it.

As an ASD parent I thought it was well done. I give the woman who put it together a lot of credit. It takes a LOT of patience with one child with asd no less a whole group, yet she accomplished something great.
