My husband and I will be moving to the Spokane area in December, he's in the Air Force and being stationed at Fairchild. I have been unhappy with my cell phone plan for a while and we had decided that when we moved we would switch providers. However, I was searching online for coverage maps and the service i want to go with (Sprint) doesn't seem to have great coverage. Does anyone have service with them and if so, how is it? I would also be intersested in knowing what everyone else has and how it works for them. Thanks!

*So excited to move!!*

We recently moved to Spokane from Everett, WA, & kept our Verizon cell service. It works just fine over here. From what I've seen, Verizon has very good coverage. In the past (8 or 9 years ago) I had T-Mobile & was always running into dead spots, Verizon has been much better.

Go with Cricket Wireless. No contract, it's affordable, and they have good coverage in Spokane. If you don't like them, you simply cancel your account with no penalty. It's like, so obvious that this is the way all cell-phone providers should treat their customers.

I don't know what else you are looking for in a phone, but the greatest feeling is the first time you get your bill and it's one small page without a million little "dings" that ratchet your bill up thirty dollars more than you expected it would be. The only thing is that if you want the latest smartphones or bleeding-edge blackberry, I don't know if you can have them through Cricket, you'll have to research that.

If you expect to travel much through the PNW while stationed at Fairchild (and most do--we always did) you'll find that while there are a number of providers available in Spokane, and they're great, if you stay in Spokane.
Personally, I found that Verizon gets the best reception in the most places. I hate them because of the "dings" referred to above and they are sooo expensive, but they do have the better coverage.

AT&T was good for me. Lots of dead spots down in the Palouse though.
