Hey guys

This is my first thread. I'm currently using a Virgin mobile pre-paid cell phone, and am looking to get an android smartphone on a contract. This will be my first contract-based phone. I know there are 2 android phones available on Virgin, but I am not happy with their service and policies. I would like to get on Sprint, as they seem to be the best deal, but I need to know how their service is in Spokane.

My sister has been on Verizon for several years, I know their coverage is (arguably) the best, but they are also quite expensive. She is on a family plan with her friends, and has recently been wanting to have mobile internet access. I proposed that if she joined a family plan with me on Sprint she could have a smartphone for almost the same price she pays for her feature phone now. She is somewhat skeptical about Sprints coverage, and I'm trying to get an idea of what it's really like. I've only talked to a guy at Best Buy, and he claims the coverage is really good. I don't know whether that's actually true, and whether that only applies to voice coverage, or whether the data coverage is good too. I now Sprint has questionably service in other parts of the country.

So are any of you Sprint customers, preferably Sprint smartphone users? What kind of voice quality and upload/download speeds are you getting?
I'm just looking to hear from people who have personal experience with Sprint cell phones in Spokane. If their coverage is not good enough, I will bite the bullet and go with Verizon. I am not interested in AT&T, T-mobile, or Cricket

I had sprint service, with the htc evo 4g while I was in Spokane. While all of the locals swore that sprint had terrible service in Spokane. I in fact found the opposite. My co-workers who all had verizon wouldnt have a signal, while I would have 4 out of 5 bars. I never hit an area in Spokane where I had no service.

As far as 3g speeds (4g wasnt available when I lived there, although it may be now) I had pretty good download speeds, always around 1000kpbs', upload around 400kpbs'. Voice quality was really good, never had a dropped call.

And with 4g, If Spokane doesnt have it yet, I can see it getting 4g very soon as the company clearwire who builds the 4g network for Sprint is just a little south of Seattle.

Hope this helps!
