Hi!
I may move to Pullman, WA for work, my fiance still has no job so we are not sure if it will happen. I was wondering how easy is the commute between Pullman and Spokane so that he could maybe expand his job search.
Thanks!
Ellie

It's not easy. It's 1 hour 40 minutes each way (on a good day) through some of the most tedious and (IMO) boring scenery on earth.

Not too bad. Many people do it. Approximately 70 minute drive although be wary of a few speed traps.

Having worked in Moscow-Pullman and communted for 3 months to my residence at that time...Spokane...it is no fun..especially in bad weather and the price of gasoline. It is faster via 195 to Rosalia turn off to Palouse, Garfield, Oakesdale and then into Pullman. Good luck

Default Thanks!

Thank you all for the comments! We are driving right now about 50min each way to work so he would be ready to drive a bit. I was seeing that Rosalia is kind of in between. I was wondering how many lanes does US-195 have? Is it a two lane highway only? or four lane?
Thank you so much!

195 is a mixed bag when it comes to lane capacity. From Spokane south there are two lanes in each direction, but it narrows to one lane in each direction as you move south. There are some passing lanes, but overall, not nearly as easy as an Interstate drive. Frankly, the state should make this corridor a high priority for expansion, but with the recession and all, I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

I work in Spokane with a lady who commutes to our work from Oaksdale. This Winter with the heavy snow in November(2010) they closed SR195 and she had to get a hotel room for the night. Weather is the big factor when you are considering commute times in Eastern Washington.

Correction Oakesdale. Just wanted to get that right before Mkeller attacked me again.

Just poking you back(re: wandermer{e})- It is easy to get defensive though isn't it? Just a little humor to lighten the thread.
