Spokane or Missoula?? (house, camping, income)

We currently live in Western Montana near Missoula and really like it here but we are really wrestling with a possible move to the Spokane area. My company has a similar position available for me in Spokane that has the long term potential for a little more income but would pay relatively the same. My wife has a good job here but should be able to find something with similar pay or maybe even better. We love the outdoors, boating, camping etc that the Missoula area offers but would like to build a house someday and housing is definitely more affordable in the Spokane and Post Falls area. We feel the scenery is not quite as pretty in our humble oppinion as Montana is with its bigger mountains but would like to hear from someone who has lived in both or spent a lot of time in both on where they would choose to live and raise a family and why. We have a two young children and are looking for a great master planned family community which Western Montana lacks. If you know of any throw that in to your post.

I personally prefer Spokane/North Idaho to Missoula, but even Missoula has that "master planned" suburban stuff now too.
