The college FM radio stations, KEWU (Eastern ) 89.5, and KAGU (Gonzaga) 88.7.

KEWU plays (and streams) good jazz most of the time, except for space music weekday evenings. Some left-wing political static is heard on off-peak hours, but nothing like the local public radio station, KPBX.

KAGU plays mostly mainstream classics. Often only one movement of longer pieces is presented, but it's better than nothing.

These are must-have stations for anyone seeking intelligent alternatives to the mind-numbing urban, head-banger, soft rock, pop, oldies, country and other contemporary mutations of "music" available all over the dial and on the internet.

I've lived in a lot of places, from coast to coast and overseas, and I would rate KEWU and KAGU very high on the listenability scale. These two stations make Spokane a better place to live than it would be without them, and provide quality listening for folks who are often neither drunk nor stoned.

I am a huge fan of Talk-Radio.....Spokanadelphia has a ton of talk stations......mostly right-wing-Phonycons. There is one left-wing station, well two if you include National Politruk Radio.

Cannot figure out which side has the most pathetic and insane blather, the Leftist-Demor**s or the Insane Republir*t-Phonycons????
