YES, if you have a solar system in The Spokeadelphia......well, winters are not going do much to charge your batteries.

Ugh, the 871st thread about Spokane weather. Yes, winters are long. Winter days are short. And it snows/rains a lot from Nov to March.

It boggles my mind how many people do this type of thing. Have you not looked at a map ever? Do you not see where Spokane is? It's 2 hours south of Canada. And surprise, surprise, the weather isn't tropical! Wow, who woulda thunk it?

If you want 70 degrees and sunshine in January, this is not the area for you. If you want a place with 4 distinct seasons, gorgeous scenerey, abundant access to lakes/rivers and 5 great ski resorts within 90 minutes....then it might be the place for you. But please, for the love of God, stop asking if it's cold in Spokane. It's like going to a Houston forum and asking is it humid? Or going to a Phoenix forum and asking does it get hot?

It has a lot of cranky newbies, too.

Just sayin.

p.s. And hey. "Four distinct seasons", huh? LOL. Everyone knows Spokane has two seasons, most years. Winter and August.

What is the weather in Spokane compared to Tri-Cities? I have heard Tri-Cities has the best (warmest and sunniest) weather in Washington. Is it really that different?

Yes, we lived 50 miles north of Spokane.

Summers we would take weekend vacations to the Tri-Cities to get into hot, dry weather.

Spokane is ok during the summer, just not very hot. Farther north and east you go the cooler the temps tend to be.

In 1978 while living in Coeur d'Alene we had a fire in the fireplace on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day!! That was a cool summer.

One winter day we left our house all chained up in over a foot of snow. We took the chains off at Ritzville, by the time we hit Tri-Cities at 5:00pm it was 55 degrees and bare dry pavement.

If you want hot, dry and wind Tri-Cities.

The comparatively balmy climate in the Tri-Cities may actually be manmade....
