I'm not African nor do I know much about African food. However, I did dine at an Ethiopian restaurant last year called Queen of Sheba near downtown. Maybe you can ask her (the owner's name is Almaz) if she knows of any places that you might be looking for.

I think Ethiopian food is so cool. Different color kinds of meat stew or veggie blops on a big pancake, right? You tear off pieces of the pancake and mop up the blop, then eat the remaining pancake.
