My hopes are that it's nothing like miami.

Self entitled, break every rule of the road and more if possible, honk at you (or give you the finger) for silly stuff drivers...

I'm hoping spokane residents are friendlier than that... I felt some ppl in seattle were kinda fake (like the young lady who rented me the car in the airport)

How are the seasons?

Are they pronounced or slight?

Is October a good time to visit? I would have preferred july, but I won't have the money by then...

I'm in Coeur d'Alene and haven't lived in Spokane in years and have never been to Florida but I'm pretty sure it will be nothing like Miami. I think most people are friendly in the area but even here in CDA there a few people that don't acknowledge people they pass while on a hike, (I think that's a bit odd).

We have all four seasons with very little humidity, you can get out and enjoy nature almost any day of the year. October is okay, just try to come early in the month before the real cold starts to set in. If you do cross the border and comes visit Idaho remember that October in Coeur d'Alene is nothing like it would be in July. This is a tourist town, so it is very busy and happening in July and August but as soon as school starts things quiet down and we get our town back again.

Enjoy your trip!

You can get anywhere you want by driving. In my eyes it is faster!

Traffic is almost non-existent! This is coming from someone who moved in September from living in Seattle for 5 years.

Hopefully is never as bad as Hialeah, fl (that's a part of greater miami that is said that the walls can hear your whispering (pretty much, everybody knows what's going on on the rest of the people's lives due to sky high gossip rates)

And they are no small town (200k +)

I lived 25 miles from my work in Seattle and took public transit to work in Downtown. Took me 75 minutes one way via train & bus.

Here it takes me 15 minutes driving.

My life is much better just from that!!!!

I read an article that crime in Spokane is higher than average? Is this true? Is this only in the bad side of town?
