Seems there are many friendly helpful people on this site so I thank all of you in advance!

My wife and I, a senior couple, are moving to Spokane in April. We’re looking for a rental to start and trying to get a sense of the best neighborhoods for our needs. Walkable comes to mind and, as we are both cyclists, bikeable would come in handy too. Quiet area—I’m a published author and active writer—so a neighborhood bustling with young families or too near schools would probably not be the right fit for us. We’re not buying a car right away so easy access to public transit is a must. Don’t know if some neighborhoods are more “senior friendly” to coin a term but any input from the Spokane sages at this site is greatly appreciated!

We just attended an event for Dining with Dignity up on the South hill, 25th Ave. There's a super nice senior area up there. Never even knew it existed. But its a gated community and everyone seemed real friendly. I cycle a lot in Spokane, but live on the north side and mostly stick with the Centennial Trail, lots of great cycling here in town, but I cannot comment on this location.

Thank you kindly for the information, Lesser Seneca. We'll take a look at the area you suggested. Dining with Dignity sounds interesting. How does one sign up?

Wondering if this senior area you're referencing is Touchmark at Grapetree, which is pretty much on 26th I think. Really nice area for seniors.
