Even those of us who are politically neutral are welcome in eastern Washington? I may be on my way back to Warsh-ing-ton.

nice 'towns' near Spokane (In my order of preference) Rockford, Fairfield, St Johns, Deer Park (have 3 friends there, but not my favorite).

ID also have some nice options and filled with CA refugees. Often retired from fire and police.

Depends on your hobbies (sporting)/ needs for accessing activities / services / medical.

I like the Coeur d' Alene and Rathdrum area and I can tolerate Post Falls, too. I am interviewing for a job in Colville (pro-nounced Call-ville) in a few days. It is an interview with the hiring Manager, so it's a biggie. I like Colville's close proximity to Canada for visiting and also the ability ta poach a concert or sporting event in Seattle. Colville is a small town, but they get smaller than that, huh, Rabbit?

A retiree 'fisherman' friend lives in Ione, WA due to proximity of 23 lakes within 23 miles!

Suits him for 15 yrs, but too cold for me (Shadow of the Mtn and heavy fog in winter)

We go to Colville as a 'big town' destination. A friend in Colville makes 300g of Bio-d / week from local cafes, so it is a good 'refill stop' somewhere in my 1250 mile range between needing to stop for fuel / or Chinese restaurants or donut shops for free WVO.

I personally like Moscow, ID area, and Clark Fork. ID / Thompson Falls. MT

A WA friend moved to Plains, MT (Fruit growing region). It is very nice, and close enough to Spokane or Missoula for services / shopping.

My Dad did boot camp / Naval Air training in Hayden, ID. A Nice spot too!

Thompson Falls is a beautiful spot - the Clark Fork River can really move through there - we went there to shoot pool one Saturday when we lived in Coeur d' Alene, ID. We went the "back" way - on a highway just north of I-90. Very, very beautiful and very remote. We came upon Thompson Falls. The river was up and flowing strong that Saturday.

With all of the talk here about how conservative Eastern Washington is, I can't blame anyone for asking if there are "like-minded" people here, IF she was considering "like-minded" to mean she was exclusively referring to politics. She simply asked. I wouldn't guess you and the Oregon chick would have given a flying flip if she was concerned about too many liberals here.

I'm of a more progressive bent and I get along with conservative friends. Heck, most of them hate Trump too.

Regardless. There are people here representing every part of the political spectrum and not everyone has to be conservative to be welcome here.
Well, since she equated "like-minded" with not liking Trump, I'd say it might have had a little to do with politics...

No one said that liberals aren't welcome here, the OP said she wanted to be around liberals - there is a difference.

So why is Spokane politics conservative, but labeled as a sanctuary city? Heard lots of Libby's are relocating to this area. Is this a take over???
