Tentatively planning a trip to Spokane... Checking out colleges and the housing situation around the last week of March.

Would love suggestions / recommendations on where to stay while there so I can book reservations. Driving from Bellingham so travel direction will depend on weather/roads. Any good vegan/vegetarian restaurants?

I haven't been to Spokane since the late 1970's... I'm sure I won't recognize it! Definitely need to see Gonzaga again (Grandpa is an alumni).. and my first home (if it's still standing!).

Looking forward to heading East for a change! Thank you!

The Davenport is really the best place to stay, or one of its associated hotels...The Lusso, Grand, or Tower. Plenty of restaurants with vegetarian options. Clover is very good and very near Gonzaga. It all depends on your price point for hotels and restaurants. But there are good options in all ranges.

Thanks Mistyriver!

I remember staying at the Davenport for a work conference many years ago. It was lovely! Did not know about the associated hotels so that is very helpful. Will look into.

Thanks for the restaurant tip as well.

Really looking forward to seeing Spokane again. I was born there and I'm at that age where I want to re-trace where I've been over the course of my life :-) I used to travel to Spokane as a kid for swim meets during the Lilac festival. The last time I went was with a group of girls from WSU way back in 1978 - so I'm sure it has grown immensely!

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Check out Allie's Pizzeria & Cafe. I'm vegan too and that was a nice find.
