I am relocating to Spokane due to work and will be renting for a little while until I know if Spokane will be my next permanent residence.

I am currently in Seattle and used to newer style, upscale, luxury condo living.
I've been researching apartments and haven't found anything close to what Seattle has.
Are there high-rise type condos in Spokane? Are there apartments with that style as well? I am looking for something with amenities, a newer feel to it and taller than 4 stories ;-)
The rental websites haven't shown me much of that.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

P.S. Is there a Trader Joe's coming to Spokane or one already there?

Everyone here wants a Trader Joe's but the last news was that they were holding off on building a Spokane location. Maybe when the economy gets a little better....
As far as luxury rentals, you should check with Wells & Company Wells & Company (http://www.wellsandcompany.biz/index.htm - broken link) - they do a lot of downtown condos & apartment rentals. There are a few other condo projects downtown that might be willing to rent instead of purchase -- if you want to send me a DM, I can give you the agents names/numbers that are handling them.
Most of the apartment complexes here are 2 story buildings - for some reason builders here like to spread out instead of up! There are some nice newer apartments in all parts of town -- do you know in what part of town you'll be working?

I think they are condo's. But last time we were in Spokane we went east on the Centennial Trail from Division Street. If we were "downtown" folks we would move there in a heartbeat.

Nice diggs.

They are right on the river and trail. You can easily walk to downtown from there. Plus you have the trail to ride all the way to Coeur d'Alene or Long Lake.

Browns Addition has several fairly new, if not brand new condo buildings. Riverside (the street) in particular. My parents are in a condo down there, and I do know that one unit is for sale in their building. They are in a pretty upscale building (not a high rise though). My dad walked to work much of the time (he worked downtown).
